Jyn was hardly about to assume that she knew what he was thinking, but she suspected she at least had the basic idea. Given that, she couldn't tell what might be helpful, curbing the instincts both to reach for him and to offer some kind of reassurance. There wasn't really any way to make sense of any of it. She certainly couldn't ask him to trust it, when he had no reason to do so and every reason to be suspicious.

All she could really do was hope that he trusted her enough to balance some of that suspicion.

"Don't be," she replied. Watching him for another moment, she asked, "Tell me what you're thinking?"
