There's no part of him that believes Jyn is going to be bad at this, despite what she's worried about, and he knows the only way she'll be convinced of that is when the classes start and she doesn't encounter the problems she expects.

Kids are different than adults. They're far less likely to give her problems. At least, not problems she won't be able to handle.
